Gėliogaliai Treasure

In 1924, in the village of Gėliogaliai, Molėtai District, two stone-covered urns were discovered, accompanied by several silver jewellery pieces. These included two bracelets with twisted loops, two twisted horseshoe-shaped brooches, four round flat brooches, and a necklace composed of elongated hollow beads tapering at the ends and decorated with filigree, lily-shaped pendants, and a white glass pendant set in a silver frame.

It is believed that some of the jewellery pieces in the treasure originated from Kyivan Rus’. The treasure is dated to the 13th–14th centuries.
